Nadia Farès, the French actress best known for The Crimson Rivers, has died at 57.
She passed away after being found unconscious in a Paris swimming pool and falling into a coma following cardiac arrest, her daughters confirmed.
In a statement, they said France lost a great artist, but for them, it was the loss of their mother.
Farès had previously undergone brain surgery for an aneurysm and multiple heart operations. Authorities have opened an investigation, with no foul play suspected.
She rose to fame in The Crimson Rivers alongside Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel, later appearing in films like War and Storm Warning.
Born in Marrakesh, she built an international career before stepping away in 2009, returning briefly in 2016.
