Robert Irwin, son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, has grown up working with deadly animals and continues his family’s conservation legacy.
Steve Irwin tragically died in 2006 after being struck by a stingray, but his passion for wildlife lives on through Robert, now 22, who works at Australia Zoo alongside his mother Terri and sister Bindi.
Robert regularly handles crocodiles, snakes, and other dangerous animals for research and conservation, often using methods inspired by his father.
During a 2026 appearance on The Tonight Show, Robert told Jimmy Fallon a wild story about a 14-foot crocodile he nicknamed after the host. While working with it, the crocodile “death rolled” him, briefly trapping him under its weight.
Despite the frightening moment, he escaped unharmed and joked about it during the interview.
Fans praised Robert for his humor, bravery, and resemblance to his father, with many calling him a continuation of Steve Irwin’s spirit.
