Former LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman, a central figure in the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, has died at 74 after battling throat cancer. Fuhrman became controversial after discovering a bloody glove linked to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, while the defense accused him of racism and questioned the investigation after tapes surfaced of him using racial slurs. Simpson was later acquitted in the criminal trial. In 1996, Fuhrman pleaded no contest to felony perjury for lying under oath and became the only person convicted in connection to the case. After retiring from the LAPD, he worked as a true crime author, radio host, and Fox News commentator.
