When Sadie, Lori, and their husbands go away for the weekend to celebrate Keith’s birthday, Lori’s husband, Ben, tells Sadie he’s hiding a secret. Sadie is torn between keeping it or telling Lori.
Sadie and Lori have been best friends since high school. They married Ben and Keith, respectively, and have shared countless milestones. On Keith’s birthday, they rented a chalet for the weekend, with Sadie handling accommodation and Ben taking care of the food. Things took an unexpected turn when Ben, drunk, mentioned hiding “bottles” from Lori. Sadie speculated that it could be alcohol, a sensitive issue due to Lori’s father’s past with addiction.
Sadie confides in Keith, who advises her to tell Lori if she’s concerned. The next day, Sadie reveals Ben’s secret to Lori, who seems unfazed but acknowledges Ben’s recent secrecy. Later, Lori discovers the “bottles” were antique perfume bottles Ben had been collecting and selling to fund a surprise trip to Paris for their anniversary. Though Sadie feels guilty for revealing the secret, she’s relieved Lori wasn’t in danger.
In the end, Lori and Ben’s Paris trip is on, and Sadie wonders if she did the right thing by telling her.
