A man has broken his silence nearly two decades after testifying as a child against his mother, Amanda Lewis, convicted of murdering his sister. AJ Hutto, now 24, was seven when he witnessed his mother drown his sister, Adrianna, in 2008. His testimony, along with a drawing presented in court, was crucial to the case.
AJ recalled seeing his mother hold Adrianna’s head underwater, describing it as “scary.” Despite critics questioning his influence, AJ insists his testimony was his own. Amanda Lewis was convicted of first-degree murder and child abuse, receiving life in prison. She maintains her innocence, claiming the drowning was accidental, but evidence, including an autopsy showing bruising, contradicted her story.
Since the trial, AJ has been adopted, becoming a firefighter and starting a family. He has no contact with Lewis and describes his childhood as filled with trauma and abuse. Lewis is currently seeking to reopen her case from prison, having recently passed a polygraph test.
