A second woman has come forward claiming to be the missing Madeleine McCann, nearly 18 years after her disappearance.
McCann vanished in 2007 at age three from a resort in Lagos, Portugal, sparking widespread media attention. Despite extensive searches, the case remains unsolved, with many believing she was abducted and hoping she may still be alive. Over the years, several women have claimed to be Madeleine, including Julia Wandelt, who recently gained attention and was arrested for stalking the McCanns after claiming DNA tests supported her being related to Madeleine’s father.
Now, 22-year-old Eugenea Collins from Arkansas, US, says she began questioning her identity after issues with securing ID and seeing a birth certificate with someone else’s name. She also claims her birth certificate had alterations. Collins’ statements have raised doubts online, as she lacks the distinctive eye defect Madeleine had, and some believe she may be seeking fame.
Collins also shared DNA results showing British and Northwestern European ancestry, though this doesn’t connect her to the McCanns. She believes her real father is German man Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance, stating she recognized him from photos.
