Colin Egglesfield Opens Up About Battling Cancer Three Times
Actor Colin Egglesfield, known for All My Children, recently shared his journey of battling cancer three times. The 52-year-old revealed that he kept his first testicular cancer diagnosis in 2006 a secret while filming, trying to stay strong but eventually breaking down under the emotional toll.
“I relied on my acting training and tried to be courageous, like Maximus from Gladiator,” he said on Let’s Be Clear, a podcast by the late Shannen Doherty. But when his treatment schedule clashed with filming, the weight became too much. “I just broke down. I realized I couldn’t do this alone.”
Once he opened up, his All My Children cast rallied around him. “They showed up, offered help, and made me feel supported,” he shared.
His battle didn’t end there—he faced cancer again the following year and was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. In January 2025, he underwent surgery and by February announced he was cancer-free for the third time.
“It’s still scary,” he admitted. “But I’ve learned it takes real courage to ask for help. I hope my story inspires others to do the same.”
