6-year-old Gracelyn Vick Discovered Dead After Disappearance in Saucier
On Sunday afternoon, 6-year-old Gracelyn Vick went missing after going outside to play at her home in Saucier, Mississippi. When she didn’t return, her family alerted authorities. A six-hour search followed, involving law enforcement, search and rescue teams, drones, helicopters, and around 40 volunteers.
Tragically, Gracelyn’s body was found later that day near her home. No arrests have been made, and investigators are still determining whether foul play was involved. Her body was removed around 8 p.m., and an autopsy is scheduled to help determine the cause of death.
Rumors have circulated online, but Sheriff Matt Haley confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
The community has shown an outpouring of support for Gracelyn’s family. At Saucier Elementary, grief counselors have been made available to students.
This marks the third heartbreaking loss for Gracelyn’s mother, Vicky Lynn Hutcherson. In March 2024, her 13-year-old daughter Victoria died in a car crash, and in July 2021, her 18-year-old son Larry passed away from a medical condition.
