Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at 80, her family confirmed on August 25, 2026.
Her nephew, Brin Seaver, shared the heartbreaking news in a video, explaining that Dolly had asked him years ago to make the announcement when the time came.
From humble Appalachian beginnings, Parton became a global icon, writing more than 3,000 songs, earning 25 No. 1 country hits and multiple Grammy Awards. Her legacy also includes Dollywood and the Imagination Library.
