Colombian Singer Yeison Jiménez Dies at 34 in Plane Crash

Colombian singer-songwriter Yeison Jiménez has died at 34 after a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff in Colombia on January 10.

The aircraft, traveling toward Medellín, crashed between Paipa and Duitama, killing all six people aboard. Jiménez and members of his team were later confirmed among the victims.

Known for his emotional música popular songs about love, heartbreak and perseverance, Jiménez rose from a difficult upbringing to become one of Colombia’s most recognizable artists.

He leaves behind his wife and three children.
