Dean Cain could have focused entirely on his Hollywood career.
Instead, when he became a father, he made a choice that surprised many people.
After fighting for custody of his son Christopher, Cain became his primary caregiver—and made sure his son always came first.
He cooked his meals, attended his football games and jujitsu tournaments, and even turned down major acting opportunities so he could be there for the moments that mattered.
Why?
Because Cain had grown up without a relationship with his biological father, who abandoned the family when he was young.
He was determined to give his own son the father he never had.
Years later, he summed up his priorities simply:
“I’m a very present father, and I would never do it otherwise.”
His son eventually graduated high school, and Cain returned to taking on bigger acting roles.
But the years he spent putting fatherhood first may have been the most important role of his life.
