Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and longtime team executive O.J. Brigance has died at 56 after a 19-year battle with ALS.
Brigance helped the Ravens win their first Super Bowl championship in 2001 and later became one of the most inspirational figures in the organization.
Diagnosed with ALS in 2007, he continued working with the Ravens and inspiring players despite the disease taking away much of his ability to move and speak.
Along with his wife, Chanda, he founded the Brigance Brigade Foundation to help other families affected by ALS.
His life became a powerful story of courage, strength and perseverance.
