Another familiar face from television’s golden age is gone.
Nina Shipman, the actress who appeared in Bonanza, The Andy Griffith Show, Perry Mason, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Munsters and many other beloved shows, has died at 88.
Born into a true Hollywood family, Shipman began acting as a child and later appeared alongside stars like Bing Crosby and Fred MacMurray. She even had a memorable role in Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo.
But television became her greatest legacy. For an entire generation, her face appeared in the shows that became part of everyday American life.
Beyond acting, Shipman was also a pianist, author, professor and mentor to young performers.
She died September 6, 2026, of natural causes in California, leaving behind her daughters and grandchildren.
Her name may not have been the biggest on the screen—but her face helped define an unforgettable era of American television.
💔 Rest in peace, Nina Shipman.
