‘Hero of the Hudson’ Captain Sully Reveals Heartbreaking Alzheimer’s Diagnosis at 75

Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the legendary pilot who saved all 155 people aboard a US Airways flight by landing on the Hudson River in 2009, has revealed that he has early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.

“I recently found out I have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. It is early stage,” he shared.

The retired pilot hopes his story will encourage other families facing Alzheimer’s to seek support and know they are not alone.

Despite the diagnosis, Sully remains hopeful and grateful for his family.

“I will navigate this chapter with my wonderful family by my side.”

His courage continues to inspire millions. ❤️
