Superman Actress Valerie Perrine’s Cause of Death Revealed at 82
Valerie Perrine, best known for playing Eve Teschmacher alongside Christopher Reeve in Superman, has died at 82.
Her death certificate lists acute cardiopulmonary arrest as the immediate cause of death. Parkinson’s disease, which she was diagnosed with in 2015, was listed as the underlying condition, with dementia also noted as a contributing factor.
Perrine died peacefully at home on March 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after battling Parkinson’s disease and severe tremors for more than 15 years.
Beyond Superman, she earned an Oscar nomination for Lenny and appeared in films including The Electric Horseman and Can’t Stop the Music.
Her friend Stacey Souther described her as a courageous inspiration and is asking fans to help fulfill Perrine’s final wish of being laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
