Both Pilots Were Unconscious at 38,000 Feet—Then an 11-Year-Old Whispered “Ghost Rider”

United Flight 892 was cruising over Kansas with 298 passengers when both pilots suddenly collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Captain Michael Torres and First Officer Jennifer Park were still breathing, but completely unconscious. The Boeing 777 remained on autopilot, yet autopilot couldn’t handle emergencies or land the aircraft.
