My Missing Daughter’s Jacket Was Wrapped Around a Baby on My Porch—Then I Read the Note
Five years ago, my 16-year-old daughter Jennifer disappeared without a trace.
The police searched everywhere, but there were never any answers. Eventually, my husband blamed me, left me for another woman, and I was left alone with the silence Jennifer had once filled.
Then one morning, I opened my front door and froze.
A tiny baby was lying in a shopping basket on my porch, wrapped in an old denim jacket.
Jennifer’s jacket.
I rushed the baby inside, shaking.
She was healthy, quiet, and completely alone.
Then I reached into the jacket pocket and found a folded note.
I opened it with trembling hands.
The message began:
“Jodi, my name is Andy. This is Hope. She’s Jennifer’s daughter.”
I could barely breathe.
After five years of believing my daughter might be dead, I was holding her baby.
But the next line was even more shocking:
“There are things you don’t know. Things Paul kept from you.”
And that was when I realized Jennifer’s disappearance had never been the mystery I thought it was.
