Just when it seemed Donald Trump might be softening toward Joe Biden, he’s delivered a stark reminder of his often ruthless—and bizarre—approach to political rivals.
Last month, Biden’s office announced he had aggressive prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. The news drew widespread sympathy, and even Trump responded with rare restraint, wishing Biden a speedy recovery.
But just weeks later, Trump shared a baseless post on Truth Social claiming Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced by clones or robots—without offering any explanation to his nearly 10 million followers.
He followed this with a Memorial Day post lashing out at Biden’s administration, calling officials “scum” and accusing them of allowing criminals into the country, protected by “USA hating judges.”
Spreading wild conspiracy theories isn’t new for Trump—he still claims the 2020 election was stolen and once questioned Obama’s citizenship. And who could forget his 2024 campaign rant that Haitian immigrants were “eating the pets” of Americans?
In short, any hopes of a more measured Trump appear to have been premature.
