King Charles’ Health: What We Know
Since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February 2024, the palace has remained quiet about his condition. Despite this, the king has continued with public duties, including a Canada visit, appearing largely unfazed in public.
However, reports suggest the situation may be more serious. Royal insider Camilla Tominey recently wrote that Charles “may die with cancer, but not of cancer,” indicating it’s likely incurable, though not immediately life-threatening.
Privately, Charles finds comfort in watercolor painting, selling his art through his foundation. Some works reflect a somber tone, with a source saying he’s “channeling grief and pain into his art.”
His relationship with Prince Harry remains strained. The king reportedly ignores Harry’s calls, leaving the Duke in the dark about his father’s condition. In a recent interview, Harry expressed concern, saying, “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
Reports also claim Charles has refused chemotherapy in favor of less invasive treatment. Though an aide described him as managing the illness “incredibly well,” others say his health is declining. Plans for his 80th birthday are now considered tentative, and he will not move into Buckingham Palace due to health concerns.
Despite everything, Charles remains active and committed to his royal role, with hopes that the Carolean age will endure for years to come.
