A Reddit user who claims to have been clinically dead for six minutes shared a chilling account of the afterlife—nothing like the peaceful heaven many imagine.
Posting anonymously on Reddit’s NoSleep forum, the user described dying at age 15 in 2003 after a sudden medical collapse. Paramedics revived them, but they say what happened in those six minutes changed everything.
“I was dead, technically,” they wrote. What they recall is not light or peace, but a dark, manipulative presence that tormented them emotionally.
“It toyed with me like a cat with a mouse,” they said, describing a pain deeper than physical suffering. The entity offered no comfort—only a warning of worse to come if they told others.
Now alive with the help of a pacemaker, the Redditor says the experience left them shaken, not saved. “I don’t thank God for anything anymore,” they wrote.
Though doctors dismissed it as trauma or hallucination, the user insists those six minutes felt longer than life—and reveal a far darker view of what might lie beyond death.
