A tourist’s selfie attempt turned into a nightmare when he climbed into a crocodile enclosure at Kabug Island Mangrove and Wetlands Park in the Philippines, mistaking a 15-foot croc named Lalay for a statue. Seconds later, the reptile attacked, latching onto his arm and thigh in a brutal “death roll” as horrified visitors looked on.
The man, 29, was trapped for 30 minutes before a handler risked his life to free him by striking the crocodile with concrete. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries requiring over 50 stitches.
The incident, caught on video, has sparked outrage online—not just over the man’s reckless behavior, but concern for the crocodile’s safety. Authorities warn the stunt could have ended much worse and stress the importance of respecting animal enclosures.
