Lindsay Lohan Says She Doesn’t Want Her Family to Be Chased Like She Was
Lindsay Lohan rose to fame in The Parent Trap but wasn’t prepared for the intense spotlight that followed. In her teens and early 20s, she was relentlessly pursued by paparazzi, often alongside Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
“I don’t ever want my family to experience being chased like I was,” Lohan recently told The Times, citing PTSD from the invasive and terrifying experiences. She and her husband, Bader Shammas, now live in Dubai with their son, Luai, to escape that life.
“It’s peaceful and private. I feel safe,” she said. Paparazzi laws in Dubai protect her family’s privacy — a stark contrast to Los Angeles, where even a park visit can trigger stress.
Lohan believes fame was more aggressive in the early 2000s, but social media has since allowed celebrities to control their narrative. “Now you can tell your own story,” she said.
Reflecting on her past, Lohan says growing up in the spotlight overshadowed her work. “That’s why I disappeared — I wanted the focus to be on my work, not drama.”
Now starring in Freakier Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray, Lohan prioritizes balance and family. “My husband, my son, and me — that’s what matters most.”
