Florida State freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard is in critical but stable condition after being shot Sunday night while visiting family in Havana, Florida, following FSU’s win over Alabama.
According to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred while Pritchard was sitting in a vehicle outside an apartment building. He was found wounded and taken to the ICU at a nearby hospital.
FSU released a statement confirming the incident and asking for privacy on behalf of the Pritchard family. Head coach Mike Norvell called the situation “tragic” and met with the team Monday to provide updates.
Pritchard, a Sanford native who enrolled in January, did not play in the season opener.
The university also posted on its official football X account:
