Donald and Melania Trump marked their 20th wedding anniversary earlier this year. While they often appear united in public, Melania has previously said they don’t always agree.
A new report suggests a shift in their power dynamic, now a topic of discussion in the White House. Initially reluctant about a second term, Melania eventually supported Donald Trump’s renewed presidential run, though she’s expected to approach the role of First Lady differently this time.
In a January interview, Melania said she felt misunderstood during her first term and emphasized her independence, stating, “I don’t always agree with my husband, and that’s okay.”
Though she’s maintained a low public profile—just 19 engagements compared to 40 during the same period in her first term—her behind-the-scenes influence appears to be growing. During a recent meeting in Alaska, Melania personally delivered a “peace letter” to Vladimir Putin, urging him to protect children affected by the war in Ukraine.
The letter was praised, and according to the Daily Mail, her actions have sparked conversation within the White House. Former advisor Kellyanne Conway noted Trump has long valued Melania’s opinion, and some insiders suggest he’s leaning on her more—possibly due to age and a desire for emotional stability.
