Kai Trump and Grandpa Donald: A Unique Bond
Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, has mostly stayed out of the spotlight—until recently. Known for her quiet confidence, Kai is now gaining attention for her close relationship with her grandfather.
She recently spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention, sharing a rare glimpse into their bond: “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking,” she joked, adding that he always checks in on school and even printed out her honor roll to show off to friends.
Their connection goes beyond politics. After Trump survived an assassination attempt, Kai said seeing him at the RNC brought them both to tears. “It was really special. I’ll never forget it.”
They also share a competitive love of golf. Kai, now a standout player, often plays matches with her grandfather—battles she says are “intense,” and admits, “He wins a lot of the time.”
Living in Florida and attending The Benjamin School, Kai recently committed to the University of Miami’s women’s golf team. Though her last name grabs attention, Kai insists she’s just a normal teen: grounded, focused, and not looking to follow her grandfather into politics—at least not for now.
