Tim Allen Forgives Driver Who Killed His Father After Being ‘Deeply Affected’ by Speech from Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika

Posted on September 27, 2025 By admin

Tim Allen has reportedly forgiven the man who killed his father after getting inspired by Charlie Kirk’s widow.

The Home Improvement alum shared on social media recently after watching Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, forgive her partner’s killer last week. He had decided to do the same for the man who took his dad’s life when he was just a kid.

‘When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who took her husband’s life, this moment really affected me ever so deeply’- Allen wrote on the X app.

‘I have struggled so much for more than 60 years to forgive the man who took my dad’s life!’- he added. ‘I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my dad!’ Allen then concluded, ‘Peace be with you all!’

Allen’s dad, Gerald Dick, passed away in November of 1964 while he was on the way back home from a Colorado football game with six kids in the vehicle alongside his wife, in a collision involving a drunk man.

The man swerved across the I-70 and went through the median, and landed on top of the car. Allen previously mentioned during his 2006 interview on Inside the Actors Studio.

Dick then passed away in Allen’s mother’s lap, the actor mentioned.
