The Mysterious Case of Paulette Gebara Farah
In 2010, four-year-old Paulette Gebara Farah disappeared from her home in Huixquilucan, Mexico. Despite no signs of forced entry and her physical disabilities making it unlikely she wandered off, authorities and her family searched for nine days with no success.
Shockingly, her body was later found in her own bed—wedged between the mattress and the frame—where multiple people, including her mother and investigators, had previously sat or searched. The death was ruled an accident caused by asphyxiation, though many questioned how such a discovery could be missed for so long.
Suspicion surrounded her parents and nannies due to inconsistent testimonies, and a leaked recording of her mother raised further doubts. Though officials insisted it wasn’t foul play, the public remained unconvinced. Even Paulette’s nannies claimed the body hadn’t been there during initial searches.
Criticism mounted against the investigation, with some accusing authorities of covering up the truth. Paulette was buried on April 6, 2010, and her remains were later cremated in 2017, closing one of Mexico’s most controversial and tragic cases.
