An Arkansas family is grieving the tragic loss of 13-year-old Kaleb Lynn Eddings, who died after falling 200 feet from Brewer Bluff at the Buffalo National River.
Kaleb was hiking with a friend on October 18 when he lost his footing. First responders, including Harrison Fire Department and park rangers, rushed to the scene, with his father, Tony Eddings, tragically discovering him unresponsive.
Park Superintendent Angela Boyers expressed condolences and thanked the local responders for their efforts.
In his obituary, Kaleb was remembered as “loved by everyone who had the fortune to meet him,” with a fondness for collecting Hot Wheels with his dad, hunting with his grandpa, and playfully teasing his younger brothers. The family highlighted his close bond with his mother and reflected, “There are no words to express the deafening quiet that has filled the space where Kaleb’s voice once reverberated… one can find comfort in the eternal presence of God.”
Rest in peace, Kaleb Lynn Eddings.
