A wedding can bring out tears of joy, and four-year-old Gage learned that firsthand at his father, US Marine Corps Sgt. Joshua Newville’s wedding to Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York. Gage had been holding it together until Leehan read vows she had written just for him.
As she began, “I want you to be safe, try your hardest, and be a good person,” Gage couldn’t hold back, throwing his arms around her in an emotional breakdown. The crowd melted, and Leehan comforted him, saying, “Don’t cry, baby.”
Leehan continued, telling Gage he was smart, kind, and had shaped her into the woman she was. Both she and Newville were in tears by the end. Gage, with his suit and big, teary eyes, stole the show, leaving everyone in awe.
After the ceremony, the couple returned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to continue their duties, delaying their honeymoon. The wedding, especially Gage’s touching moment, will be remembered for years.
