Former US President Joe Biden’s daughter has filed for divorce from her plastic surgeon husband.
According to reports from local media outlets, Dr. Howard Krein and Ashley Biden have called it quits on their marriage of 13 years.
The 44-year-old former first daughter was seen filing the papers inside the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Monday, as shared by The Post.
Biden’s Instagram Story on that same day featured a clip of her walking through the park and flashing a major thumbs-up sign, while the tune Freedom by Beyoncé played in the background.
She similarly posted a quote on her profile that read: ‘New life, new beginnings, which means new boundaries. New ways of being that will not look or sound like they once did in the past’- it continued.
Details regarding the actual cause of the split were yet to be clear.
No divorce records were made public in Philadelphia. Reports revealed how the duo tied the knot in Greenville, Delaware, in June of 2012. This is two years after being set up by her late older brother, who was Beau Biden. He did end up popping the question on a cliff in California in late 2011 after getting her dad’s permission.
At the time, Biden felt he was certainly the right man and told him that he was getting the best woman.
