Meghan Markle has reached out to her dad, Thomas Markle, after reports shared more details about his emergency health condition.
Sources from local media outlets spoke about how he underwent surgery to amputate his left leg and is therefore in intensive care at this moment in time.
‘I can confirm that she has reached out to her father during this difficult time’- a spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex shared with the press today.
The news comes after Thomas’s son mentioned to the Daily Mail that the 81-year-old had to have his leg amputated below the knee on December 3 after a blood clot inside his thigh reportedly cut off circulation.
The procedure was an alarming one and was deemed as linked to life or death, adding how his dad’s foot had turned blue and then black before doctors determined that amputation was a necessary procedure.

Meghan’s spokesperson refused to share more details on this front, following reports of her dad’s medical emergency.
The Duchess and her father have had a very turbulent relationship in recent times. They have been estranged since the year 2018, as per reports from local media outlets.
