President Donald Trump has just been awarded a newly created peace prize for his extraordinary contributions.
The news comes as the American head of state helped kick start the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Washington, DC, on Friday.
Trump attended the grand event alongside the leaders of Mexico and Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney. This was designed to help determine which teams would be competing against each other to make it into the world’s biggest soccer tournament.
Trump was more than delighted to be honored with this prize, while critics online called it the Trump circus that never seemed to end.
Ahead of the draw announcement that was shared, the American President got the peace prize from FIFA’s president, who claimed it was the first honor of its kind to exist, and Trump should be so proud of himself for all his due efforts. He similarly received a medal for the same reason.
Those favoring Trump spoke about how much he deserved this and how it was a long-overdue award. But some felt it was a far stretch to be seeing this occur at a sports event, with some calling the whole draw fixed for the USA team.
