Actor Peter Greene, known for roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, was found dead in his Lower East Side apartment on December 12. He was 60.
Police discovered Greene unresponsive around 3:25 p.m. and pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities say there were no signs of foul play, with the cause of death pending a medical examiner’s report.
Greene’s manager confirmed the news, praising him as one of the industry’s great character actors. Born in New Jersey, Greene rose to fame playing villain Zed in Pulp Fiction and had been preparing to star in an upcoming independent film with Mickey Rourke.
A neighbor reported finding Greene face down with visible injuries, and police noted a cryptic handwritten message on his door referencing the “Westies,” a former Irish-American gang.
Rest in peace, Peter Greene.
