Hollywood legend Rob Reiner, 78, gave a haunting final interview just months before his shocking death. Appearing on CNN in September, Reiner warned about media control and authoritarianism, ominously saying, “This may be the last time you ever see me.”
Reiner criticized what he described as government interference in media, calling it a threat to the First Amendment. His remarks followed controversy over the temporary suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, with Reiner warning that silencing voices could lead to “state-run media.”
Less than four months later, Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on December 14. Authorities are investigating the case as an apparent homicide, with no signs of forced entry. Reports say the couple was discovered by their daughter, Romy, and police are questioning their son, Nick, in connection with the deaths.
A family spokesperson confirmed the loss and requested privacy.
Reiner’s career spanned more than five decades. He rose to fame on All in the Family before directing classics like When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Stand by Me, and This Is Spinal Tap. He earned an Academy Award nomination for A Few Good Men and was also a prominent political activist.
Michele Reiner was a producer on several films, including Shock and Awe and God & Country.
