Some people worry about dogs around babies, especially breeds like pit bulls, often labeled as aggressive. But one California mom says her pit bull saved both her and her baby’s lives.
Latana Chai’s baby, Masailah, and her dog, Sasha, were born days apart and shared a close bond. One night around midnight, Sasha began acting strangely, crying and barking urgently at the door.
When Latana let her in, Sasha ran straight to the baby’s room. Latana then noticed thick black smoke spreading from a fire in a neighboring house.
Sasha grabbed Masailah by the diaper and pulled her to safety, while her warning barks alerted the family in time. The heroic pit bull is now credited with saving their lives.
