Alex Pretti’s parents are speaking for the first time about the final phone call they had with their son just days before he was killed.
In that conversation, they spoke about ordinary life details such as repairs to his garage door and how he had tipped a generous amount to the server, who was a Latino worker, because of all that was taking place in the city of Minneapolis recently.

‘Go ahead and protest, but do not engage and do anything stupid’- his parents recalled as the advice they gave him, adding that he understood well what they were saying.

Pretti was a 37-year-old ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA Hospital who cared so deeply about people and his entire community.
His parents called him a very kindhearted soul who wanted to make a big difference and loved his entire nation, even as he disagreed with the direction it was being taken by those in the world of politics. They also mentioned how he cared so much about the environment and had a huge heart for other people.
