Authorities have denied claims that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law is a prime suspect in the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since January 31.
Nancy, 84, vanished overnight from her home in Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators believe a crime occurred and that she was likely taken from her home against her will. Due to her limited mobility, officials say it’s highly unlikely she left on her own.
Search-and-rescue efforts and a forensic investigation, including DNA evidence and security footage review, are ongoing. Law enforcement clarified that no suspect or person of interest has been identified and denied reports that any vehicle had been seized.
Savannah Guthrie has asked for prayers and expressed gratitude for the public’s support as the investigation continues.
