Phil Collins recently discussed his health on BBC’s Eras podcast with Zoe Ball. He revealed he now requires 24/7 care due to complications from a 2007 spinal injury, including nerve damage. Collins has had five knee surgeries and walks with assistance.
Reflecting on Genesis’ 2022 farewell tour, he admitted his physical challenges frustrated him, especially performing alongside his son Nic, the drummer. Touring worsened his health, and past heavy drinking affected his kidneys. Collins has now been sober for two years, calling the journey “difficult but all right now.”
He expressed gratitude for his children and his successful music career, describing it as varied and eventful.
