Rondale Moore, an NFL wide receiver, was found dead Saturday at his home in New Albany, Indiana. He was 25. Authorities said he died from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, and the case remains under investigation. An autopsy was scheduled.
A standout at Purdue University, Moore was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He played three seasons in Arizona before being traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, where he suffered a season-ending injury. In 2025, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings, but another serious knee injury cut his season short.
The NFL and the Vikings released statements expressing condolences to Moore’s family, friends, and teammates. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell described him as humble, dedicated, and resilient despite repeated injuries.
Moore, known for his speed and versatility, was widely respected for his explosive athleticism and determination throughout his career.
