Four years ago, Cole Prochaska weighed over 585 pounds, consuming around 5,000 calories a day and living a sedentary, unhappy life. Struggling with overeating and shortness of breath, he felt lonely and avoided social situations. When his seven-year relationship began falling apart, he realized it was time for change. “I didn’t save the relationship,” he said, “but I saved myself.”
He started small — walking just a few blocks a day. Soon, that turned into a commitment to 10,000 steps daily, no matter the weather. He overhauled his diet, cutting out junk food and soda, focusing on water, protein, and calorie control. Eventually, he added gym workouts, fully committing to a lifestyle change.
By 2023, Cole had lost around 360 pounds — naturally, without surgery or medication. Though proud of reaching his weight goal, he now struggles with excess skin and is raising funds for removal surgery. Despite feeling self-conscious, he shares his journey to inspire others.
His message is simple: “Keep going, keep walking… You can do it. I’m living proof.”
