Pattie Mallette is best known today as the mother of Justin Bieber, but her life has been marked by deep hardship long before her son became famous.
Born in 1975 in Stratford, Ontario, Pattie endured a traumatic childhood, including the tragic death of her sister when she was just two years old. She later revealed years of abuse, substance use as a teenager, and struggles with crime and mental health. At 17, after a period of despair and a suicide attempt, she began rebuilding her life through faith.
That same year, she gave birth to Justin. Raising him as a single mother in low-income housing, Pattie supported his love for music and entered him into local talent competitions. She famously uploaded his early performances to YouTube, which helped launch his global career.
As Justin rose to fame, their relationship faced challenges, especially during his legal troubles in 2014. Trust had to be rebuilt, and they went through a period of distance.
Over time, however, their bond healed. Pattie has since expressed pride in the man her son has become, reflecting on a journey shaped by pain, perseverance, faith, and forgiveness.
