President Donald Trump’s planned visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26 has sparked renewed concerns about his health.
At 79, Trump has faced growing speculation about his physical and mental fitness, fueled by visible bruises on his hands, reports of him falling asleep during meetings, controversial decisions, and erratic social media posts.
The White House confirmed this will be Trump’s third medical checkup in just 13 months, drawing attention since sitting presidents typically undergo only one annual physical. Trump previously underwent exams in April and October 2025, including a CT scan after initially saying he had an MRI.
Recent photos showing bruises on his hands also raised questions. Trump’s doctor said they were caused by frequent handshaking and aspirin use, while Trump himself claimed he takes extra aspirin to keep his blood “thin.”
Despite the concerns, Trump recently insisted he feels the same as he did in his 30s, saying, “I feel literally the same.”
