Carer Grants Dying Woman’s Final Wish with a Song

Posted on August 7, 2026 By admin

As Maria’s life came to an end in a care facility, she had one final wish—to hear her favorite hymn, “How Great Thou Art,” one last time. A lifelong piano and singing teacher, Maria deeply missed the music that had filled her life.

Thankfully, one of her former students, Joshua Woodard, now worked at the care home in Austinburg, Ohio. Having known Maria since he was nine years old, Joshua happily honored her request. Holding the lyrics on his phone, he sang the beloved hymn with heartfelt emotion, giving his former teacher a beautiful and unforgettable farewell. His touching act reminded everyone of the lasting impact a teacher can have and the extraordinary compassion shown by hospice workers.
