Actress Dee Freeman Dies at 66 After Battle With Cancer šŸ’”

Actress Dolores ā€œDeeā€ Freeman, best known for her roles on The Young and the Restless and Tyler Perry’s Sistas, has sadly passed away at 66.

Her family confirmed that she died peacefully on April 2, 2026, following a brave battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Born in Louisiana in 1959, Freeman served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps before pursuing her passion for acting. She made her television debut in 1995 on Coach and went on to build a two-decade career in Los Angeles.

Her publicist described Dee as a woman of ā€œgrace, strength, and authenticity,ā€ saying her legacy would live on not only through her work, but through the way she made people feel.

Freeman leaves behind two children, Amber and Shane, who she considered her greatest pride.

Shane was beside his mother during her final moments. When he asked how she was doing, she replied:

ā€œCan’t complain. On the other side doesn’t do you any good.ā€

A powerful final message from a woman who faced the end with courage.

Rest in peace, Dee Freeman. šŸ•ŠļøšŸ’”
