Actress Dee Freeman Dies at 66 After Battle With Cancer š
Actress Dolores āDeeā Freeman, best known for her roles on The Young and the Restless and Tyler Perryās Sistas, has sadly passed away at 66.
Her family confirmed that she died peacefully on April 2, 2026, following a brave battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Born in Louisiana in 1959, Freeman served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps before pursuing her passion for acting. She made her television debut in 1995 on Coach and went on to build a two-decade career in Los Angeles.
Her publicist described Dee as a woman of āgrace, strength, and authenticity,ā saying her legacy would live on not only through her work, but through the way she made people feel.
Freeman leaves behind two children, Amber and Shane, who she considered her greatest pride.
Shane was beside his mother during her final moments. When he asked how she was doing, she replied:
āCanāt complain. On the other side doesnāt do you any good.ā
