Violet ended her radio show with her usual declaration: “All men are liars.” Her experiences and the stories from listeners had cemented this belief. But after a date with her co-host, James, she began to doubt it—until a phone call changed everything.
In the dim studio, Violet sat with James as they listened to a caller, Susan, who was distressed over her relationship. Violet advised her to move on, believing all men were deceitful. James disagreed, suggesting there could be other reasons for her partner’s behavior, but Violet was firm.
After the show, James asked Violet out on a date, and despite her skepticism about men, she agreed. The evening went unexpectedly well, and Violet found herself starting to soften her stance on relationships.
But when Violet received a late-night call from a woman named Jane, claiming to be James’s girlfriend, everything changed. Heartbroken, Violet left the restaurant, unable to trust him.
The next day at work, Violet confronted James. His awkwardness revealed the truth—Jane had been lying about their relationship, and James had already ended it. Violet apologized, realizing that not all men were liars.
With a tentative smile, she agreed to give their relationship another chance, admitting that sometimes, even she could be wrong.
