Biden Breaks Silence to Criticize Trump Policies
In a rare public speech on July 3, former President Joe Biden expressed concern over the rapid reversal of his administration’s accomplishments under President Trump. Speaking at the SHRM trade group conference, Biden warned about the U.S. retreating from global leadership, citing his efforts to strengthen NATO and ongoing consultations with European leaders despite being out of office.
While avoiding direct mention of Trump, Biden’s comments clearly targeted current policy shifts, including a major domestic bill passed shortly after his speech. The legislation includes tax cuts, increased immigration enforcement, and Medicaid reductions that could impact millions by 2034.
Biden also referenced his continued behind-the-scenes political involvement and emphasized values of family and resilience, following his recent diagnosis of late-stage prostate cancer. He appeared with a head injury just hours before the event, which his spokesperson later confirmed required surgery.
When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Biden replied simply: “Being a good father.”
The White House responded sharply, defending Trump’s foreign policy and claiming his leadership has strengthened NATO and restored U.S. global standing.
