Sophia Hutchins, Caitlyn Jenner’s longtime friend and personal manager, has tragically died at 29 following an ATV accident in Malibu.
Hutchins, who had worked closely with Jenner for nearly a decade, was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday, July 2. According to TMZ, she was riding near Jenner’s Malibu home when she hit the back of a moving car and was thrown over the roadside, plunging 350 feet into a ravine. The car’s passengers were unharmed. It’s unclear if Jenner was home at the time.
Hutchins and Jenner formed a close bond after meeting in 2015, shortly after Jenner’s public transition. Hutchins, who also transitioned around the same time, appeared on I Am Cait and later described their relationship as both deeply personal and professionally supportive.
Outside her work with Jenner, Hutchins was an entrepreneur and advocate. She served as CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation and founded health tech company LUMASOL, along with her own consulting firm. More recently, she had begun making appearances as a political commentator on Fox News.
Her sudden passing has shocked friends, family, and the LGBTQ+ community. Jenner has not yet commented publicly. Hutchins is remembered for her drive, vision, and lasting impact on those around her.
