A tragic car crash in Georgia has left a father mourning the loss of his entire family — his wife and four young children — as communities in North Carolina and Florida grieve.
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, Reagan Dougan, 27, was driving her children — ages 9, 4, 2, and 3 months — on I-95 South in McIntosh County, Georgia, when their rented SUV collided with another vehicle and burst into flames. All five died at the scene.
The family was en route from Raleigh to meet Reagan’s husband, Christian, in Florida. Authorities say Reagan was speeding when the SUV struck another car and hit the center guardrail. The other driver survived. The crash shut down the highway for four hours, and the investigation is ongoing.
Loved ones remember Reagan as a devoted mother and joyful presence. Friend Christopher “Jonesy” Butler-Jones called her a light in people’s lives and said her children were her world. Neighbor Jason Flores recalled the family’s warmth and the sound of children laughing in their yard.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by Christian’s stepmother has raised over $88,000 to help cover funeral expenses and transport the family’s remains to Florida.
Tributes continue to pour in from those who knew Reagan — described as kind, vibrant, and deeply loving. Photographer Katrina Cusatis remembered the family’s joy during a recent maternity shoot, and friend Cecily Corinne Borquez called Reagan “one in a million.”
The Dougan family’s story has left a lasting impact — a legacy of love, light, and unimaginable loss.
