Trump Declared in “Excellent Health” — But Critics Raise Concerns
Donald Trump, now 78, was recently declared in “excellent health” by the White House doctor following a comprehensive April 2025 exam. The checkup, involving 14 specialists, noted robust physical and neurological health, with improved cholesterol and a 25-pound weight loss.
Despite this, critics like Republican strategist Rick Wilson are raising alarms. In a Times Radio interview, Wilson claimed Trump shows signs of cognitive decline — citing incoherence, verbal lapses, and behavioral changes — warning that “whether he makes it through four years is an open question.”
Wilson argues that passing a cognitive screening doesn’t rule out age-related decline, pointing to public behavior as more telling than test results. Journalist Timothy L. O’Brien echoed concerns, noting Trump’s fear of developing dementia like his father.
Trump’s latest medical disclosure was unusually detailed compared to past vague statements, possibly due to campaign pressure. However, skeptics remain unconvinced, emphasizing that strong health reports don’t always reflect real-time mental acuity.
