A woman in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, had all four limbs amputated after being mauled by two pit bulls while riding her bike. Janelle Scott was attacked around 11 p.m. on September 9 while visiting a friend, whose dogs had escaped. Her boyfriend was initially too far to help but managed to kill one of the dogs.
Scott suffered catastrophic injuries and was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital, where doctors amputated both arms and legs. Her mother, Cheryl Scott, says she’s devastated but tries to stay strong for her daughter, who faces more surgeries.
The dogs’ owner was in jail at the time, and the person left in charge was cited. A GoFundMe has been launched, with the family asking for prayers and support.
